About Us

MGL AmpWorks is part of Mark’s Guitar Loft and was started in 2016 as a side business when 2 good friends with a passion for great Marshall amp tones got together to build a clone of my 1981 JMP Master volume 2204 head that I’ve owned for over 25 years. That project turned into the first MGL50 Lead Master 50 amp offered.

Fast forward to 2023 and we now offer 4 amp models that are all modded Marshall based circuits.

Some things in the MGL amp family have changed and I’m excited to announce that one of my long time best friends, Evan Cantor, has come on board as my new partner and is now doing the in-house amp builds. Evan is an engineer and was an owner and the amp designer for Bedrock Amplifiers.

Also want to mention another great member of the family, Los Angeles pro guitarist, Jimmy Burkard, who does our demos and serves as another great set of ears to help in the voicing and testing of our amps.
